Ingredients | Small | Large Size |
Bananas | ½ | 3 |
Sunflower Oil | 1.5 tbsp (12ml) | 9 tbsp (72ml) |
Vanilla Essence | ½ tsp | 3 tsp |
Egg | ½ (25ml) | 3 (150ml) |
Sugar | 1.5tbsp (25gr) | 9 tbsp (150gr) |
Flour | 3 tbsp (55gr) | 330gr |
Baking Powder | ½ tsp | 3 tsp |
Sultanas | 10 | 2-3 handfuls |
- Grease the bread moulds with oil or butter and set aside.
- Get 2 bowls. One for the “wet” ingredients (banana, oil, vanilla, eggs) and another for the “dry” ingredients (flour, sugar etc.).
- Peel the banana and add it to the “wet” bowl. Break it into small pieces using a fork or spoon and then mash it into a puré.
- Add the oil, vanilla and eggs and mix together.
- Now to the “dry” bowl. Sift the flower and baking powder before adding the sugar. Mix together and then add the sultanas.
- Pour the “wet” ingredients into the “dry” bowl and stir in a circular motion mixing all the ingredients together to form a thick, uniform dough.
- Using a spatula or spoon, transfer the dough into the greased bread mould until it´s half full. Tap the mould on the bench 4-5 times to help remove any bubbles before placing it into the oven. Cook at 180º for 20-25 minutes. To check that it´s cooked correctly, insert a toothpick or knife. If it comes out clean, then it´s completely cooked. If it comes out wet, then continue baking as required.
- Allow at least 15 minutes for cooling before eating.
