Ingredients 1-2 People 4-6 people

FILLING/BASE

Golden Apples 1 4
Raw Brown sugar 1 tbsp 4 tbsp
Butter 1 tbsp 4 tbsp
Water 60 ml 250ml
Sultanas ½ tbsp 2 tbsp
Cinnamon ½ tsp 2 tsp
Clove 1 3
Walnuts 2-3 8-10
Salt Pinch Pinch

CRUMBLE

Flour 2 tbsp 8 tbsp
Butter 1 tbsp 4 tbsp
Oats 2 tbsp 8 tbsp
Sugar 1 tbsp 4 tbsp

 

Filling/Base

  1. Cut the apples into even squares (around 2 cms).
  2. Add the water, butter and sugar to the saucepan and gently bring to a boil.
  3. Add the apples and sultanas and reduce until sauce is thick.
  4. Add the walnuts and a pinch of salt.
  5. Place into a baking tray.

Crumble

  1. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl.
  2. Cut the cold butter into even squares and add to the bowl.
  3. Using your hands, rub the butter and flour together until it resembles sand.
  4. Add the oats and sugar and continue to rub until everything is evenly mixed.
  5. Place the crumble on top of the filling in the baking tray and bake at 180º for 20-25 minutes or until golden on top.
